The Web Challenge Gives Aspiring Online Marketers a Chance to Trump the Competition and win $1,500 in Prizes

FT. LAUDERDALE, Florida – January 24, 2006 - The National Society for Hispanic Professionals and announce the kick-off of a new competition for students and professionals with a talent for Web content creation and marketing. Loosely based on NBC-TV's “The Apprentice,” the Web Challenge requires contestants to complete a real-world business project in the Internet arena.

Competitors from South Florida and around the world will be tasked with creating a successful Web site concept and mockup for the domain , supported by a marketing plan to launch and develop the proposed site. Winning entries will demonstrate market research skills, creative content, persuasive writing ability and a dynamic strategy for marketing their concept.

Conceived by President Eric Shannon, the contest is sponsored by the Hispanic/bilingual job board LatPro, in conjunction with the National Society for Hispanic Professionals.

“Through this process, we want to find persuasive and market-savvy professionals, whether they are currently students or employed in the work force,” says Mr. Shannon. He continues, “This competition is about creatively reaching a target market and effectively conveying a message that benefits Hispanic professionals. We want to see a focus on content and usability, in addition to strategic marketing abilities.”

While the Web Challenge has a Hispanic theme, individuals of any race or ethnicity are encouraged to participate. Winners will be judged solely on the quality of their submissions based on the results of a judging panel from the sponsoring organizations and online public voting.
